vIrgInIa™ is a US, multiple-award-winning singer, songwriter and solo performer. Her sound has been described as having a depth that is simultaneously dark, brooding and intelligent as well as spiritually uplifting and playful. As aforementioned, she is the recipient of several annual awards including Top Vocalist and "Top Female Solo Performer." She has also held nominations for "Best New Song of the Year" (So Sweet), Best New Band and Best New Album of the Year (Hush, the e.p.).
After moving from Chicago to the Tri-state area, she released her debut album, Sweet Conscience at the age of 19. She then released a follow-up, 6-song EP entitled Hush, which was released in 2003, included the song of the year nomination for the track So Sweet, On Your Own, written for the indie film, Never Among Friends.
She since has spent time performing solo shows on mini-tours with Chris Connelly of Ministry, Michael Ferentino (Home) and Andres Karu, previously of Dog/Love in Reverse and Miles Hunt of the Wonder Stuff. Virginia has opened shows for national acts including Tracy Chapman, Violent Femmes
