Lisa Hogan is a singer, composer, teacher and actress. Her work is considered very eclectic from pop, art songs and jazz to acoustic new-romantic instrumental music. Her work has been performed in dozens of venues and reviewed in the New York Times. Most recently her work was selected for performance through Vox Novus 60x60 International Concert series in the Birmingham Alabama New Music Festival "Moonlight on the Mountain," in 8/2014. Dr. Mary Logon Hastings performed her song cycle of Sara Teasdale poems at the 10th Annual Festival of Women Composers in February 2014 at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Siri Howard who is currently starring in Les Miserable’s has completed the recordings for the Sara Teasdale song cycle. In January 2014, her work was presented for another Vox Novus 60x60's 10th International Concert in Long Beach, California, as well as the International Concert Series in Kansas City, Kansas as part of The Electronic Music Midwest Festival in September 2013.
As a singer and performer, Hogan released 2 full albums of original material, and has played all over the tri-state area in addition to joining dozens of bands as a backup singer and keyboardist. She had the privilege of working with Brett Michaels on Celebrity Apprentice during the jingle episode, which he won in 2012! She has coached dozens of actors and worked with MFA students at Rutgers University Graduate Program. In 2006 Hogan earned an MA in Music Composition from the Aaron Copland School of Music at the City University of New York Queens College, and has been an Adjunct Professor at the City University of New York, Montclair State University and Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts.
