Ryan Laird is a 2-time Canadian Country Music Awards and Canadian Radio Music Awards nominated recording artist. He has been winning over audiences across North America performing festivals, theaters, resorts and various concert events for over a decade. His live show is something special. Putting a modern, original twist on classic, recognizable songs is where he truly shines. He is charming, high energy, and his guitar chops are out of this world, making his performances unforgettable.
In 2008, Ryan made his mark as an innovator in self-promotion. After moving from Canada to Tennessee and spending 8 years writing songs under the radar on music row in Nashville, with not much more to his name than his 1995 Honda Civic, his 6 string guitar, a batch of songs and a dream, he cashed in the remainder of his life savings to put up a huge billboard on Music Row in Nashville with a picture of himself holding a note to country superstar Taylor Swift reading, "Hey Taylor - I LOVE your music. Will you produce my album?" This bold move attracted major media attention across North America, with Swift herself taking notice and number one country radio personality Blair Garner labeling Ryan "The Voice of Country Future" after Ryan's performance on syndicated radio show "After MidNite".
Ryan has since had the opportunity to collaborate with many other artists and writers including international superstar Nick Carter of THE BACKSTREET BOYS. He was also invited as the exclusive opening act for country music legend ALAN JACKSON on his recent Canadian tour following the success of Laird's top 10 debut single "I'm Your Man" (written for his brother's marriage proposal to a high school sweet heart).
Most recently, Laird has embarked on an "anti-bullying campaign" school tour. Ryan was bullied in grade school and has been sharing his motivational story with thousands of youth. At the schools, he performs a concert amidst speaking with students about his personal experience with bullying and the importance of chasing dreams.
With a hefty tour schedule, Nashville Tennessee songwriting sessions with many of country music's top hit makers and a new album due for release in Canada this year, the future is looking bright for this budding star!
